An Interview with @big_marvs_toys
Q: How long have you been a toy photographer?
A: I started uploading toy photos on Instagram in August 2018.

Q: What got you started in toy photography?
A: Someone gave my 2yr old son a Figma Action Figure. I tried to figure out what it was and I discovered this huge online community of people who are mostly within the same age group as me who are posting cool toy photos on Instagram.

Q: What is your favorite figure to shoot and why?
A: Mostly Figma and Revoltech and SH Figuarts figures because of the details, articulations, alternate hand gestures and face plates with different expressions. Because I actually am more focused on storytelling, so the more emotions and actions a figure can portray the better.
Q: What is your favorite place to take photos?
A: At home, with my rag-tag light box. I’d like to do outdoor shoots but I only have time late at night and I’m worried I’ll creep people out.

Q: What’s the weirdest thing that has ever happened during a photo shoot?
A: My wife walked in on me. It’s 3am, and she thought I was filming myself masturbate.
Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
A: I like Domino’s (Girl Superhero, not the Pizza) power. I want to be lucky all the time. So much possibilities… so many applications.
