Q: How long have you been a toy photographer?

A: I have been exploring the realm of toy photography as early as 2016.

Q: What got you started in toy photography?

A: After an exciting trip to Singapore, I was inspired to show the world the bricks I have bought from there. I have always been fascinated with toy photography and I even participated in local toy photography contests. I even landed 4th place in one of those contests. Such fields of competition made me realize how toy photography is not that appreciated by majority of the general public. I want to break those barriers, and I am glad to have discovered that there are thousands of people who also love this hobby.

Q: What is your favorite figure to shoot and why?

A: I don’t really have a favorite figure, but I only shoot with LEGO minifigures, so far. There are figures that I find to be photogenic, in terms of posability and the ease of taking good shots with them. I only shoot with authentic LEGO, yes.

Q: What is your favorite place to take photos?

A: I don’t really have a favorite place because I make good shots, not because I have a favorite place, but because I have a scene visualized in my mind beforehand. So no matter where I take my pictures, as long as I have ample inspiration, I will definitely have satisfying photos.

Q: What’s the weirdest thing that has ever happened during a photo shoot?

A: Actually, it’s about stereotypes. Here in our place, toy photography is seen as pathetic. Sometimes, people would think that we are crazy because we take photos of toys in public areas. But I don’t mind even though it bothers me sometimes.

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

A: If being rich, like Batman, could be a superpower, I would have that. There are a lot of kids who don’t have the luxury to enjoy what we enjoy, some cannot afford to buy toys as they prefer to buy meals instead, and it touches my heart. If I am rich, I would definitely start a charity where children would be given the opportunity to choose the toys they would want to play, thus giving them a childhood they deserve. It’s a legacy they should continue as they grow up, then they too will share the wonderful childhood to the future generations.
